Judas and the Black Messiah

In 1969, a young Fred Hampton becomes Chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party. His ability to rally different communities together by highlighting the common grounds of inequality and oppression they all share gives the Party a growing power that the authorities soon consider a threat. A career thief, William O’Neal is ordered by the FBI to infiltrate the Party, where he finds his way into Hampton’s inner circle and uses his position to inform the secret services on the Black Panthers’ next moves. Daniel Kaluuya perfectly channels Chairman Fred Hampton’s power to unite whilst LaKeith Stanfield offers an exceptional and layered portrait of William O’Neal’s confused soul.
